California Girls!
Ladies and Gentlemen, Katy Perry has brought me out of hiatus. If you haven’t heard this song yet, get ready. Not only is it insanely catchy and summery (word?), but it definitely makes me wish I was a California Girl (thanks Mom and Dad).
Could this be a summer anthem? It may be too early to tell but it’s definitely one of my favorite pop songs of the year. Give it a listen and let me know what you think!

OneRepublic - After Apologize.
Following their super smash hit Apologize, the OneRepublic boys seemed to slip away, only making a small flashback with Stop and Stare in 2008. However, they released a new album in late 2009 that you may have overlooked.
The lead single All The Right Moves from this new album titled Waking Up got a little radio play and peaked at #21 on the Billboard 200 however, there are a couple other tracks off this album that are really, really good, namely Secrets and Good Life.
I recently saw OneRepublic in Madison, WI and was blown away, mostly by lead singer Ryan Tedder. While you may not recognize the name, you most definitely know his music. Besides writing for OneRepublic, Tedder co-wrote Leona Lewis’ chart topping hit Bleeding Love (with none other than Dreamstreet’s own Jesse McCartney), Beyonce’s Halo , Jordin Sparks Battlefield and Adam Lambert’s Sleepwalker. Pretty impressive right?
So, it comes at no surprise that some of this new OneRepublic stuff is genius. Reminiscent of Coldplay with deep percussion and anthem like vocals, but still using pop melodies that are insanely catchy, this new album should be topping the charts.
